One of the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blast, Ahmed Mohammad Lambu was arrested by Gujarat ATS from Valsad- Navsari sea coast of Gujarat on Thursday night. The Gujarat ATS officials conducted a major operation and nabbed the accused.
As per officials, Lambu was involved in the landing of RDX to the execution of 1993 Mumbai blast and had fled the country after the blast which took 257 lives and left nearly 700 injured. The serial-bomb-blasts took place at different locations including Bombay Stock Exchange building, Fisherman`s Colony in Mahim, Plaza Cinema, Zaveri Bazaar, and Katha Bazaar.
As per officials CBI has put a reward of Rs 5 lakh since 1997 on Lambu and was also on the Red Corner Notice(RCN) list of Interpol. Officials were tracking him from past couple of years, On Thursday night officials got a tip-off of his location, that he was returning back to India through Sea route and promptly arrested him.
Now officials are going to bring Lambu to Ahmedabad ATS office for further investigation. It is expeccted that Lambu will reveal many details regarding 1993 Mumbai blast and about its mastermind Dawood Ibrahim,
