Rajasthan: Man arrested for murdering Muslim, burning corpse in suspected love jihad case

In a case of suspected love jihad in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, a viral video of a man killing another with a sickle and subsequently dousing the corpse with kerosene before setting it ablaze, has shocked the administration.
The accused, who is has been identified as Shambhu Nath Raigar, was arrested soon afterwards. According to Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, a special investigation team has been set up to probe the case.

Earlier, the police had received information that a charred body had been found in a field under the jurisdiction of Rajnagar police station. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Bhutta Sheikh and his motorcycle was also found near the site of the murder.
The police then found the video which was circulated on social media. In the video, Raigar is seen striking Shaikh with a sickle and dousing him with kerosene and setting him ablaze before fleeing the scene.  “Raigar is seen threatening eyewitnesses over love jihad,” a police official said.
