The Bombay High Court on Tuesday issued notice to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to file their reply within two weeks to a petition filed by a disciple of Osho (Bhagwan Rajneesh), late Spiritual Guru. The petitioner alleged that the will prepared by an accused is fabricated and demanded that the probe into the FIR, which was carried out by Pune police, be transferred to CBI.
A division bench of Justice Ranjit More and Justice Sadhana Jadhav directed petitioner Yogesh Thakkar to amend his petition and make CBI a party respondent and issued notice to the agency, seeking their reply.
Thakkar in his plea filed through Advocate Pradeep Havnur said investigations have been pending for a long time. The FIR was filed under Sections 465, 467 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code that pertain to 'punishment for forgery', 'forgery of valuable security, will', and 'using as genuine a forged document' in 2013.
It is also alleged that foreigners have systematically smuggled and siphoned off Osho's work, articles and yogic meditation techniques.
The police informed the court that it would follow up on the Letter Rogatory sent to the Ministry of External Affairs on seeking to produce the original will from a court in Spain. The plea will come up for hearing on September 27.
Yogesh Thakkar — a disciple of Osho — alleged that Osho’s will is fabricated.
He also demanded a probe into the FIR report carried out by Pune police.
A division bench of the High Court hearing the case directed Thakkar to amend his petition and make CBI a respondent party in the case.
